When your brain is full of really obnoxiously random royal facts such as mine, it takes all I have not to scream when coming across headlines as those that were floating around yesterday after the Queen’s Young Leaders event.
No, no, the majority of headlines were not about the aforementioned young leaders, rather the fact that Meghan…
…didn’t do the ‘Duchess Slant.’ GASPS.
My eyes rolled so hard they flopped out of my head and rolled across the floor.
Here’s a few reasons why.

The Queen, in a gold lame dress, is seen in the Long Library at Sandringham shortly after making the traditional Christmas Day broadcast to her peoples. On the desk are portraits of Prince Charles and Princess Anne. The broadcast was televised this yer for the first time and was carried by both the BBC and ITV. It was the 25th anniversary of the first radio message to the Commonwealth by her grandfather, King George V.
I rest my case.
And, in a world of perpetual manspreading, I think the way a grown woman, royal or not, chooses to sit is the least of our problems.

I wondered when this would start! Every time there is a new royal bride, the press is in raptures, and they can’t say enough positive things about her. Everything she does, says, or wears, is perfect, amusing, elegant. Then suddenly, the honeymoon is over and the attacks begin, and it is always something stupid like this. They should be ashamed of themselves, but they never are. I think she will wisely chose to ignore her detractors, and just carry on. Her new family is loving and supportive, and that is all that really matters. If there were a problem, she would be informed. She has a protocol advisor, who would have told her what is and isn’t allowed. This one is so stupid, my head hurts. In the same picture, Harry is manspreading, and they don’t have a problem with that, apparently.
I think that the extreme angle looks rather uncomfortable but if that’s how she wants to sit, that’s her choice- why does it matter what her legs are doing? It’s 2018 folks.
