A love straight out of a Harry tale…

HARRY SITUATION

I was really surprised to read on twitter the other night that Harry is now being reported as being back together with Cressida. I mean, wasn’t it *just* reported that he was back with Chelsy? I can’t keep up. My head was spinning.

Naturally, I wanted answers. 😉

Royal Twitter Gossip

I must admit, the royal correspondents on twitter answer 99% of my tweets, even during the busy moments on tour. I’m really impressed and thankful for them taking their time to respond.

Let’s look at the varying reports:

US Weekly claims: Chelsy and Harry are back together.

The sexy redheaded royal and Davy, 29, have been secretly meeting up since a date in February, sources tell Us. For Harry’s 31st birthday, the bubbly corporate lawyer flew 8,500 miles to be by his side in London. (US Weekly.)

The Sun: Cressida and Harry are back together.

The-Sun-Harry-and-Cressida

The 26-year-old actress joined him and close friends for the bash in a private room at a pub.

They were reunited on Tuesday night, just hours after The Sun revealed Cressida had split from her actor boyfriend.

Our exclusive pictures are the clearest indication that the pair want to give their relationship another go, as we had also reported. (The Sun.)

People magazine: Harry is unattached.

Prince Harry Unattached

While he is clearly keeping close to his exes, the source tells PEOPLE he doesn’t have anyone special in his life at the moment. (Cue the confetti.) (People magazine.)

This Vanity Fair article delves even deeper into the latest reports.

So, now that you’ve read this weirdly long discourse on the love life of Prince Harry, you probably have even less of a sense of what is going on than before you read it! Is he still with Chelsy? Reconnected with Cressida? Romancing both of them simultaneously?!?! Or is he using the two as a distraction from his relationship with, like, Suki Waterhouse, or even, just maybe, a “commoner”? Maybe he’s dating Gwyneth Paltrow, and she’s the reason he’s been sporting the Chris Martin-y scruff! O.K., now we’re just blatantly making stuff up; all this uncertainty has us delirious. (Vanity Fair.)

One thing is for certain, though…

British Royal Rumors and Happenings

Latest British Royal News

Let’s start this Monday with the most intriguing bits of British Royal gossip…

182777

Prince Harry is reportedly seeing Camilla Thurlow (pictured above), the Scottish beauty he was seen snogging with back in June.

With the revelation of this potential romance comes, of course, rumors of Cressida wanting Harry back.

Harry was publicly linked to Camilla this week and the new duo seem to have a lot more in common than Harry and Cressida ever did. Camilla is a beauty queen that works for The Halo Trust, the anti-landmine organization that was closely linked to Harry’s beloved mother, Princess Diana. Aside from those things Camilla is hardly the wallflower that Cressida was. Instead she is known to be the life of the party and can keep up with Harry’s drinking when challenged. Girlfriend works and plays hard, just like Harry. (Celebrity Dirty Laundry)

Harry-Main

Prince Harry continues to make his brother, Prince William, look like an amateur, issuing a poignant piece regarding his time in war, as well as announcing his hope to remain in the army until the age of 55.

Harry revealed his career plans last week at an event in Folkestone, Kent, while paying tribute to the thousands of British and Commonwealth soldiers who died in the First World War.

The royal said he was “incredibly moved” by the commemorations and was “proud” to have played a part in them.

A source said: “Harry was chatting quite informally and was talking about life in the Army. He said ‘I love it – it’s the best job in the world. I’m staying in until I can draw my pension – if they’ll let me’.” (Mirror)

Meanwhile, the media is continuing to spread word that Prince William “goes back to work” — pretty much acknowledging that he hasn’t been working for a while… — and there is a mixed reaction. Of course, here in the US, the media paints it as a way for the “little family” to stay as normal as possible. The US press loves to romanticize the royals, which I admit to buying into, but British press seems mixed on the matter. This piece calls Prince William out for being an adult, yet acting more like a child.

The nation has been very patient with William. We understood his reluctance as a young man to take on the royal mantle after the death of his mother. We respected his request for privacy while at university, then in the military. We indulged his little whim to undertake a course at Cambridge in agriculture.

But the reluctant Prince — who’s known to have inherited his father’s petulance — now appears to be becoming a rather selfish one, still dodging the royal draft, but keeping all the privileges that come with it. (Daily Mail)

1Yesterday I posted about the latest Vanity Fair Best-Dressed List. I didn’t mention Kate’s being mentioned in the “Hall of Fame” because I really don’t care. It’s such a joke of a statement that I don’t really care to draw attention to it. But, it happened. And it’s ridiculous.

Georgemojis, Plus a Stroll in the Park with Mum

Almost as ridiculous as this fawning over the fact Kate took Prince George to the Princess Diana Memorial section of Kensington Park. There are no photos — the photo above is from a different outting — and they only stayed for 15 minutes… but it’s like candy for the media. I can’t help think this may be a way to deter from the previously mentioned ongoing criticism of her and Will’s ever-changing life plans…

There’s so much going on, but nothing too exciting gossip-wise. Except for Harry’s news… I’m genuinely happy for Prince Harry. He seems so down to earth and grateful for the live and platform he has been given… Prince William and Kate could benefit from following his lead.

Prince Harry Tours Italy and Estonia, makes reality TV debut (kind of)

First his three-day tour of Italy and Estonia, and then his dating show debut–kind of…

While Cressida was out reportedly ‘showing Harry what he was missing,‘ Prince Harry was on an EasyJet flight to Estonia for the first day of the three-day tour. He laid a wreath at the War of Independence Victory Column, and then gave a speech at the Estonia Parliament.

The second day included meeting with Estonian troops who had been deployed with the British troops to Afghanistan since 2006. The Prince met with an old military friend he had met during his own tour to Afghanistan, the two laughed about how the Prince would often ask to use his mate’s computer to write to his girlfriend back home at the time, Chelsy Davy.

His last day began with royal duties where the Prince met with WWII veterans at an unveiling ceremony at Maxxi museum. The Prince then decided to do some site seeing of his own with a tour of the Colosseum, much to the surprise of other tourists.

While the world has been keeping up with reports of his tour, Americans have been cringing from their couches as we have been subjected to the travesty that is “I Wanna Marry ‘Harry.'” It’s a ‘reality’ show that has 12 American women vying to woo a (fake) Prince Harry–only they don’t know that it’s not the real Harry. Yes, it’s as silly as it sounds, and even worse.

You can read a recap of the first episode here.

"I Wanna Marry 'Harry'"

Or we can just forget this whole thing ever happened…yeah, let’s do that.

Princess Ingrid Alexandra attends Parliament 2014

Note: Let’s skip to the good stuff. If you want day-by-day rundowns of what the royals around the world were up to this past week, this site is far better at keeping up than I am.

Prince Henrik of Denmark turned 5, super cute photos of the young prince were shared on the Danish Royal website.

King Willem-Alexander of the Netherlands attended a play based on the diaries of Anne Frank.

Around the web…

Since we can’t stop it, we might as well help spread awareness. There is a seemingly huge misunderstanding in America about WHO the real Prince Harry is. Here is a guide to help. Please spread the word.

And even more on that subject, it seems as though Cressida and Harry are done for good. To that I say… time will truly tell.

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge’s official website has Prince George’s birthday listed incorrectly. They had ONE JOB. (Thanks, Kate Middleton Review for pointing out the blunder.)

Kate is ‘addicted to online shopping‘ and this allegation surprises… absolutely no one.

Tiara madness. (It’s as good as it sounds. Thanks GFY for the link.)

Crown Princess and her kids visited Eurovision, Crown Prince Frederik and Mary will attend tomorrow night.

And again… WHERE’S KATE?

The Latest Buzz: Prince William flew among peasants; Prince Harry wants Cressida back; Where are Kate and George?

Prince William and economy (seating)

Prince William Flies Econony

People are praising Prince William after a US reporter tweeted a photo of the Prince flying ‘coach’ (a term Americans use for economy seating) on an American Airlines flight from Memphis to Dallas. In the words of Doge, Much brave. Nice save. Such peasant. Very relate.

At first, I was actually impressed. I may have even been among those in appreciation of the Prince’s gesture, flying among the peasants and all… until I started looking into the whole thing. Here’s the thing, it was a flight from Memphis to Dallas. A flight lasting 1 hour and 30 minutes at most. Also, he’s sitting at the very front, and boarded privately from the rest of the passengers. Ok… but such domestic flights, especially when such a short distance, don’t even have options for First Class seating… the first couple of seats are merely considered First Class. But hey, after a trip that cost UK taxpayers a reported $84,000 for security of the young royals during their jaunt to the Memphis wedding. But footed the bill for the trip–aside from the security–themselves. Had Kate been with him, I highly doubt we’d have seen them fly coach, unless, of course, for PR purposes.

Had William flown among us peasants in economy from Dallas to London, well then I’d be rather impressed. But he obviously didn’t, or we’d have that being shoved down our throats, too.

As for Prince Harry’s travel arrangements back to the UK? I think Vanity Fair said it best:

Harry, however, was nowhere to be seen on William’s flight, which means it is still possible thetwerk-happynewly single redhead returned to London on a gold-plated private jet piloted by Snoop Dogg, populated by the casts of the three most recent Real World seasons, and D.J.ed by an Avicii-Skrillex collaboration.

Prince Harry plus Cressida equals?

Cressida and Harry

Drama. Lots of drama. The amount of conflicting reports, sometimes from the same news source (hello, Daily Mail!), what are we really to believe? Was she ‘too needy’ or not? Is Prince Harry ‘bombarding‘ her with 15 texts a day? Does this have Kate’s fingerprints all over it? (Spoiler alert: probably.) Is it not over for the two? Who knows. I certainly hope so. I’m still pulling for Chelsy Davy… but that’s a story for another post, maybe later this week?

Anyway, I wanted to post this solid point from a comment I got about the whole debacle (and my saying I think Prince Harry’s camp should apologize for the ‘too needy’ accusation):

I don’t think his camp needs to apologize for calling her needy because her camp has been treading on him in the press as well. She would have been a major headache had she married in because that family of hers has been doing nothing but courting the press and leaking since he started dating her. Notice how there are only paparazzi photos of her and engagement rumors when Harry is out of the UK. She also has been represented by StuartWattsPr since they began dating. Those were her intentions from the beginning. I don’t feel sorry for her she tried to play the game and she lost.

*Slow Clap* Great point.

(I love your all’s comments! Keep them coming. I had hoped this site would start discussions!)

Royal roll call

The Duke And Duchess Of Cambridge Tour Australia And New Zealand - Day 1

Though I’d be lying if I said I expected to see them for months after their vacation grueling tour and all their work, I wish we could see a little bit of George in the country he will someday rule… but, seeing as how they pretty much hid him for 7 months after his christening, I’m an idiot to expect anything else. Maybe we’ll see him on his sixteenth birthday if the media continues to play into all of Prince William and Kate’s requests, maybe.

Many are speculating that the ducal couple headed straight from Australia to yet another holiday, perhaps even Switzerland to ski. (Prince William was seen in the Swiss Air lounge in Chicago.) Love, Lola has a really good post about just this topic.

I think skiing is anything but a vacation–holy workout!–but I also think the Royal Tour was anything but ‘a lot of work.’ But then again, I’ve never had to have my hair and makeup done every morning, don custom dresses, and collect dozens of bouquets from doting fans for a few hours everyday, so who am I to know the stress Kate must endure each day on behalf of the monarchy.

So much gossip to process. I don’t even really know how I feel about it all. What are your thoughts?

Prince Harry and Cressida Bonas Break Up

20140429-233956.jpg
Somewhat surprisingly, the Royal and the socialite beauty have separated. More surprisingly, everyone from Time to ABC News is reporting on it.

Breakups are the pits no matter who you are, and they have to be utterly miserable when millions of people around the world are watching. I hope Harry’s camp apologizes* to Cressida for their claims of her being ‘too needy’ and the pair can both keep their respect for each other.

Memphis this weekend will certainly be a well-needed respite for the Prince. Maybe he’ll meet his match, and maybe, if we’re really lucky, she’ll be from the USA!

Here’s to hoping both recover from this bummer and it doesn’t become a case of heartbreak warfare.

*Not necessarily in public, but at least privately.

Royal Rewind: Week of April 25, 2014

William and George April 25, 2014

This week in Royal news…

The Spanish Royals attended Easter Mass in Palma de Mallorca, Spain. Infanta Leonor and Sophie looked darling, as usual.

Prince George was absolutely precious, though a bit unimpressed, on Easter Sunday at the Taronga Zoo.

The British Royals attended Easter service at Windsor Palace with the Queen.

A new portrait was unveiled of Queen Elizabeth II in honor of her 88th birthday.

The Ducal family was photographed on their day of rest and the BRF PR was not happy. But we got this .gif of Kate clicking her heels, which I like to think is her way of ‘sticking it to the haters.’

William and Kate went to Uluru to recreate visit the breathtaking views of the Australian outback… awkwardness was aplenty as the couple was photographed with Will saying to Kate, ““So what shall we talk about?” They then ‘glamped.’

The Queen and Prince Consort of Denmark had paid a State visit to China.

The Duchess of Cornwall’s younger brother passed away after a freak accident in New York.

William and Kate visited Adelaide and tried DJing. Again, awkwardness ensued.

The Swedish Royal Family released photos of baby Princess Leonore with her cousin, Princess Estelle. If you listen closely, you can hear the ‘awwwws’ around the world. (Or, at least mine.)

Kate wore an American designer dress for formal event in Canberra.

William and Kate attended ‘previously unscheduled’ memorial service, visited tomb of the Unknown Soldier, planted tree, and bid farewell to Australia, ending tour officially.

Around the web…

First, GEORGE. The best of, because hello!

And The Official Ranking of his facial expressions. He is killing it.

Kate went from low, low, to neck high… oh girl, pick a happy medium!

Tour Question #8320: Where were the jewels?

US Weekly photoshopped their Prince George cover for God knows why.

Cressida allegedly ‘spooked’ by royal life after talking with Kate… and I’d just like to let it be known, Harry, I volunteer to take on the painstaking role of being your Princess. No matter how many tiaras and jewels I may be forced to wear, long hemlines be damned!

Royal Rewind: Week of April 4, 2014

William and Kate St. Andrews' graduation 2005

This past week in Royal news…

Since releasing last week’s latest family portrait, many have pointed out the similarities between Prince George and his mother, the Duchess of Cambridge.

Prince William, Prince Harry, and Kate attended friends’ Lucy Meade and Charlie Budgett’s wedding. Cressida was not in attendance.

Kate shopped at the Gap, 500 yards from Kensington Palace, while security waited outside in running vehicle.

Prince William, the Duke of Edinburgh and the Queen unveiled a new horse statue among cherry blossoms.

Worries grow as details continue to be released regarding the Royal tour Down Under.

Queen still kindles her love of horses at age 88.

The Duke of York, Prince Andrew, was bitten by the selfie bug.

Princess Eugenie visited hospital where she underwent spinal surgery as a child, opened a new wing.

The Queen and Duke of Edinburgh met with the Pope at Vatican. Pope presented gift for Prince George.

Harry and Cressida’s engagement will be ‘sooner than many people think.’

Prince Harry visited Olympic Park, cuteness ensues.

Around the web…

Great piece from Victoria Arbiter, a second-generation Royals correspondent, on living at Kensington Palace.

Who wore it best from the ladies at Go Fug Yourself, as awesome as you’d expect.

PopSugar covered the ‘Evolution of the Royal Portrait.’

Kate Middleton Review wrote insightful piece on Kate’s shopping trip to the Gap.

Love, Lola wrote about the possible reasons Cressida wasn’t at the ‘Walking with the Wounded’ charity event, and also Royal bling. Both topics that prove more than intriguing.

And, as expected, everyone’s prepping for the Royal Tour… less than two days to go! More details to follow…
